The Centre will focus on hands-on education, exposure to contemporary implant technologies and knowledge exchange with experienced dental professionals. Through these initiatives, students will be able to develop greater confidence, strengthen their understanding of implant dentistry and improve their readiness to manage the demands of clinical practice.
Beyond student training, the Anthogyr Centre of Excellence will serve as a platform for clinical education, faculty development and industry-academia collaboration. It will also provide practising dental professionals with opportunities to expand their knowledge, explore emerging technologies and stay informed about evolving treatment approaches in implant dentistry.

Anne-Céline Godest, Training and Education and Global KOLs Manager at Anthogyr, said innovation in implant dentistry extends beyond technological advancements to include equipping clinicians with the knowledge and confidence to apply new solutions effectively. She expressed hope that the Centre would create more opportunities for practical learning, professional knowledge exchange and the continued advancement of clinical practice.
The partnership was formalised through an official signing ceremony held during the LeCercle Global Implantology Consensus Summit 2026. The summit brought together dental professionals, clinical experts and industry leaders for scientific exchange and discussions on developments shaping the future of implant dentistry.
With more than 75 years of French engineering and manufacturing expertise, Anthogyr develops implant, prosthetic and digital solutions to support dental professionals across a range of clinical situations. Its approach combines technological innovation with education and close engagement with clinicians, supported by international training initiatives and professional communities such as LeCercle.

For Straumann Group, the collaboration represents a long-term investment in strengthening Malaysia’s dental community. Mark Graham, Commercial Director for Southeast Asia at Straumann Group, said Malaysia has a dynamic dental community with a strong commitment to continuous learning. He added that the partnership with IMU University aims to bring education, clinical expertise and technology closer together, helping dental professionals enhance their capabilities and contribute to better patient care.
Meanwhile, Professor Emerita Datuk Dr Asma Ismail, Vice-Chancellor of IMU University, highlighted the importance of ensuring that dental education evolves alongside developments in the profession. She said the collaboration establishes an important connection between academic learning and clinical practice, creating more opportunities for students, faculty members and practising dental professionals to learn, exchange knowledge and keep pace with advancements in implant dentistry.

The launch also served as a key highlight of Anthogyr Day 2026, providing participants with opportunities to engage with clinical experts, share experiences and explore Anthogyr’s approach to implant dentistry through scientific discussions and practical learning activities.

Through the Anthogyr Centre of Excellence, IMU University and Straumann Group aim to establish a sustainable platform for education and professional exchange that supports the development of more confident, clinically prepared and future-ready dental professionals in Malaysia. The initiative is also expected to contribute to the continued advancement of dental education and the delivery of quality oral healthcare in the country.
