KUALA LUMPUR, 23 September 2026 — Health Summit Asia (HSA) 2027 is set to return from 5 to 7 May 2027 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, bringing together healthcare leaders, industry players, innovators, investors, policymakers and other stakeholders to explore opportunities across Asia’s rapidly evolving health economy.

Held under the theme “One Ecosystem. One Pulse. Shaping the Future of Health Economy,” HSA 2027 comes at a time when Asia’s healthcare market is projected to reach US$5 trillion (RM20 trillion) by 2030, driven in part by the region’s rapidly ageing population. Asia currently accounts for 60% of the world’s population aged 65 and above, while UNESCAP projects that the Asia-Pacific population aged 60 and above will double from 670 million in 2022 to 1.3 billion by 2050.

The demographic shift is placing greater emphasis on sustainable healthcare delivery, including in Malaysia, which the World Bank projects will become an aged society by 2044, when 14% of the population is expected to be aged 65 and above, and a super-aged society by 2056, when the proportion is projected to exceed 20%.

Speaking during the soft launch of HSA 2027, Deputy Minister of Health Malaysia, Yang Berhormat Dato’ Hajjah Hanifah Hajar Taib, said the event aligns with Malaysia’s national healthcare goals and public-private health strategies. She highlighted the importance of collaboration across government, healthcare providers, industry, academia, investors and innovators in addressing the evolving needs of the healthcare sector.

A key feature of HSA 2027 will be the introduction of Market Access Clinics, a practical route-to-market programme designed to help international and regional delegates develop structured plans for entering the Malaysian and wider Asian healthcare markets. Taking place on 7 May, the clinics will use focused small-group sessions to examine three key areas: regulation, hospital adoption and distribution partnerships.

The regulation sessions will explore regulatory frameworks, evidence requirements and compliance considerations, while the hospital adoption discussions will focus on clinical relevance, workflow integration, economic feasibility and implementation readiness. The distribution partnerships segment will help participants examine potential commercial partners and consider how agreements can be structured to support market expansion.

Richard Teo, Executive Chairman of Qube Integrated Malaysia, said the healthcare industry is at an important stage where stronger partnerships are needed to expand the sector beyond conventional clinical services into a broader growth economy encompassing care delivery, digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence and preventive wellness.

HSA 2027 is expected to feature 120 exhibitors from 10 countries and attract exhibitors and delegates from more than 60 countries. The event will comprise five core pillars: a two-day conference, trade exhibition, Market Access Clinics, Industry Spotlight and B2B meetings. Exhibitors will represent areas including digital health and technology, medical devices and consumables, pharmaceutical innovation, nutrition and nutraceuticals, as well as health policy and regulation.
