KUALA LUMPUR, 20 October 2026 — BREGO Life Sciences successfully concluded its impactful community healthcare initiative, BREGO Cares 2026: Stronger Bones, Better Health, which brought advanced AI-assisted bone health screenings and Vitamin D testing directly to primary care clinics across 11 states in Malaysia.

The nationwide programme successfully reached approximately 2,000 individuals through a dual-pronged approach. Utilizing VeriOsteo OP an innovative AI-assisted software that analyzes existing chest X-rays participating clinics provided accessible bone health evaluations, while others offered convenient Vitamin D fingerstick testing and educational outreach. Preliminary findings from select sites revealed that nearly 47% of individuals evaluated were flagged for potential osteopenia or osteoporosis risks, underscoring a critical need for proactive screening.

Managing Director of BREGO Life Sciences, Dr Danny Wong, emphasized the silent nature of bone degeneration. He noted that osteoporosis often progresses without noticeable symptoms until a fracture occurs. By decentralizing diagnostics into primary care settings, the initiative aims to bridge a recognized healthcare gap in Malaysia, where limited access to traditional bone mineral densitometry has historically hindered early detection.

The urgency of these efforts is further amplified by Malaysia’s changing demographics. With citizens aged 65 and above comprising an expanding portion of the population and projected surges in hip fractures over the coming decades, early intervention is paramount. General practitioners involved in the campaign echoed these sentiments, noting that encouraging asymptomatic, active individuals to prioritize preventative bone health remains an ongoing priority.

Building on the success of this year’s outreach launched in conjunction with Osteoporosis Awareness Month BREGO Life Sciences plans to expand its community-focused healthcare programmes. The initiative demonstrates how strategic partnerships with primary care providers can successfully drive early awareness, foster preventive care habits, and safeguard the long-term wellness of communities nationwide.
